God designed us
for more!
If you’ve ever longed for
deeper, more meaningful relationships in your church, you’re not alone.
Millions of Christians feel
disconnected, even within their own church families.
But this longing for more
is no coincidence—it’s part of God’s divine design.
God created us for deep,
authentic community. He designed His church to function as a family.
The Bible reminds us repeatedly
about the importance of knowing one another deeply:
“Bear one another’s burdens,
and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).
“Therefore encourage one
another and build one another up, just as you are doing” (1 Thessalonians
5:11).
“Two are better than one
… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up” (Ecclesiastes
4:9-10).
But how can we bear each
other’s burdens and build one another up
if we don’t move beyond
surface-level greetings like, “Hello!” or “How are you?”
What Holds Us Back?
It’s common to feel hesitant
about diving into deeper conversations:
We don’t know what to say.
Asking questions feels awkward.
We’re afraid others might
think we’re prying.
Yet, when we practice asking
meaningful questions, something beautiful happens:
We’re never at a loss for
words because we have thoughtful questions ready.
Conversations become more
natural as asking and listening become second nature.
People feel loved and valued
when we take time to truly listen to them.
Better Listening is the
Foundation of Loving People!
Compassion Outreach
Ministry: Let’s Start the Conversation
This
activity is open to regular attendees of West Houston SDA Church only.
We’re
excited to connect and share this experience within our church family.
Thank
you for understanding!
We invite you to join us
in building deeper, Christ-centered relationships within our church family.
Together, we can create
a culture of connection and care, one conversation at a time.
It might feel awkward at
first, but as more of us take the initiative to connect,
it will become second nature—and
the rewards will be worth it:
Friendships will flourish.
Relationships will deepen.
Our church community will
thrive as God intended.
Here’s how it works:
Each week, we’ll share one
question for reflection and conversation.
Your participation can make
a difference!
Let’s take this first step
together and watch God work through our willingness to connect.
